Bandwagon
This Coca Cola advertisement is an example of bandwagon. Bandwagon is a type of propaganda which encourages customers or the audience to do something by emphasizing the fact that everyone else is doing it. This Coca Cola commercial describes many different kinds of people and how Coke is for every one of them. At the end of the commercial, the narrator says that Coke is “for everyone,” which emphasizes the idea that everyone, including the people it previously described and the audience watching the commercial, deserves to drink Coke. The line also delivers an underlying message pushing the audience to buy Coke in order to be properly associated with the group “everyone.” Bandwagon is clearly used as the thought that the drink is for everyone, encouraging the audience watching the commercial to buy the drink, in order to be a part of “everyone”.
